- Staying purely for Ba Na Hills; it is a hilltop theme park, worth a half-day at most.
My Khe beach is wide, free and right in the city, which is the easiest thing Da Nang does well. The Marble Mountains are about €1.50 to enter with a €0.60 lift to save the climb, and they take an hour or two. Ba Na Hills, with the much-photographed Golden Bridge, is €33 including the cable car. Go at opening time to beat both the crowds and the cloud that settles on the ridge by midday.
This is the best-value seafood in the country. A full seafood dinner is €8 to €12, and the local noodle, mì Quảng, is about €2. Eat where the car parks are full of Vietnamese plates rather than tour coaches.
The airport is ten minutes from the centre, a €2 to €3 ride, which makes Da Nang a practical way in and out of the middle of the country. Hoi An is forty-five minutes south, roughly €12 to €16 by car. Do not stay in Da Nang purely for Ba Na Hills, because it is a hilltop theme park with a French-village theme, not a quiet mountain valley.
